#JamaicaBID Black History: Malvin Gray Johnson - Malvin Gray Johnson (28 January 1896 – 1934) was an African-American painter, born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. Escaping from an impoverished childhood, Johnson moved North to study at the National Academy of Design, he became an accomplished and celebrated artist, best known for his work in abstract symbolism. He lived to be 38 years old.
